v0.4.0: The "Dead Simple" Release
May 4th, 2007 — 3:09 pm —Over the course of the next month we’ll be slimming down and cleaning up slate in anticipation of a May 30 release. Instead of going with our planned v0.3.4 release we’ve decided to bump it up to v0.4.0 because of all the of the very serious changes going on with the system. What you can expect from this release:
- simplified permissions, no more user-defined roles,
- slimmer content editor with the new “accordian” style,
- much more useful snippet editor tied to TEH,
- easier blog interface,
- tags for blogs yes, virginia, tags are real,
- a slightly smarter TEH,
- and, most importanly, an entire look & feel change to the entire system.
There are a bunch of other things in the hopper but I don’t want to go overboard. It’s going to be a busy month but at the end of May we should have a very polished version of slate available. We’ve learned a lot over the last year. Based on that we’re going to make using the system as simple and straightforward as possible.
